The construction and start-up of the new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of the housing estate Calypo-Fado de Casarrubios del Monte (Toledo) began a few days ago.
After a bidding process in which a total of 31 companies have participated, finally the TBA formed by Entorno Obras y Servicios SL, Eiffage Energía and Eiffage Infraestructuras has been awarded to execute the works. The overall investment is €4,8 million and works should be finished in 12 months, further six months for initial commissioning.
This action, co-financed with Feder funds, will benefit around 2.000 people living there, and indirectly, many more residents located in the Tagus river basin, thanks to the higher quality of the water. The installation of this treatment plant will fulfill an excellent environmental function, since the problems arising from poor treatment will be eradicated. Thus, this will improve the environmental quality of the Tagus river.
The treatment plant will have the capacity to serve a volume of wastewater of 2,654 cubic meters per day, benefiting about 2,000 residents.
