The CEO and Director General of Eiffage Energy, José Manuel Martínez, was awarded the Special Prize for Best Supplier of the Year 2019, by Iberdrola, for its responsibility, quality and safety and its contribution to the business by applying its great technological capacity in both the renewables and distribution network areas.
For yet another year running, Iberdrola is awarding these prizes in recognition of the support of 11 companies, from which it makes purchases worth over 1.5 billion euros a year, as part of its strategy to spearhead the energy transition.
By awarding these prizes, the Iberdrola group aims to incentivise and acknowledge excellence, sustainable development, quality, internationalisation, corporate social responsibility, job creation and occupational risk prevention.
This is a very important recognition for Eiffage Energía, as it comes from one of its main customers with whom it has been working for 20 years – throughout the two decades that the company has been involved with renewable energy, starting with the 115 MW Higueruela wind farm, Albacete province, constructed for Iberdrola in 1999.
Eiffage Energía is, therefore, one of Iberdrola’s historical suppliers and has worked with the company in both the areas of renewables and distribution networks, with projects as significant as Núñez de Balboa (500 MW) – the largest photovoltaic plant under construction in Europe – or the Chimiche wind farm, Iberdrola’s first in the Canary Islands.
The awards ceremony, which was held at the Iberdrola Tower in Bilbao, was presided over by Ángeles Santamaría, CEO of Iberdrola España, accompanied by Iberdrola’s Purchasing and Insurance Director, Asís Canales. Also in attendance were over 250 guests, including numerous representatives of Iberdrola’s supply companies with which it works in Spain.
