GRAND PARIS is a French project, conceived and promoted by the former President of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy, which aims to completely transform the metropolitan area of Paris to turn it into a modern global metropolis of the 21st century. The EIFFAGE Group is playing a fundamental role in this extremely important project. As part of the group of contracts, Eiffage was awarded the contract for line 16, lot 1. Precisely for this project, EI Mobile Equipment, a division of Eiffage Infrastructuras, has been selected to be responsible for supplying 200,000 m3 of concrete over a period of 48 months. Eiffage Infrastructuras created its mobile equipmentdivision in 2002. This allows it to provide major infrastructure projects worldwide with concrete manufacturing and supply services, mobile asphalt equipment and mobile laying equipment with special fittings. To meet such an important challenge, we will provide a concrete plant with a 3 cubic metre mixer, 4 x 135 tonne silos and a fifth 90 tonne silo. These facilities will be in operation throughout the period with a double shift system and the projects will require up to 17 different types of concrete to be manufactured. The manufactured product is transported by a fleet of company trucks. The assembly of the plant began in May 2018 and the first tests were started at the end of the same month. More than 100,000 m3 of concrete have been supplied since then.
