We are happy to inform you that Eiffage Infraestructuras has been the successful bidder for its first European project in the calls for the H2020 Program.

This project is framed under the theme of “Industrial sustainability: Automation, Systems Engineering; Digital transformation” under the title of: “Cognitive Automation Platform for European PRocess Industry digital transformation (CAPRI PROJECT)“.

Companies and technology centers from three sectors participate in the consortium: steel, asphalt and pharmaceutical and from 7 countries (Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, Greece, Serbia, Poland). It is a requirement of this European call: that several industrial sectors and several European countries get involved and that the common knowledge of the three sectors generated in areas of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

The project has a total budget of € 7,050,276.25 (Grant: € 6,104,451.75), Eiffage Infrastructure accounting for € 586,875 (Grant: € 410,812).

In general, this project will allow Eiffage to continue developing the line started in France with the plant connected at Madrid’s asphalt plant.

Specifically, Eiffage would participate with a demonstrator, the main objective being to improve the performance and productive flexibility of the asphalt and paving sector through a digital transformation of all the resources involved in the process, from the asphalt mix production plant to the process of paving on the road. This productive improvement implies a reduction in energy consumption, an optimization of the use of raw materials and a reduction in waste.

That is why, the digitization procedure of all phases of the process in proposed. This digitization will provide the necessary analysis capacity to carry out a high-level supervised intelligent control that allows defining and executing the manufacturing strategy of the asphalt plant. The new asphalt manufacturing strategy will respond in real time to fluctuations in demand for asphalt at the construction site, optimizing production, improving the flexibility of the plant and guaranteeing the quality of the final product, the bituminous mixture.
