New solar farm in Mexico. Eiffage Energía, through its subsidiary Eiffage Energía México, constructed the Andalucía II photovoltaic plant for OPDEnergy. OPDEnergy is a company with extensive experience in the development, construction, operation and financing of renewable energy assets, in both the photovoltaic and wind power sectors. The Andalucía II plant, located in the Municipality of Matamoros, State of Coahuila, provides clean energy to more than 60,000 homes. Eiffage Energía brought together 22 companies and 600 workers for its construction.

106.5 MW of installed power

The new solar farm in Mexico is built on 200 hectares of land and has an installed power of 106.5 MW. It also has 308,700 installed panels; a 230 KV step-up transformer substation and a 5 kilometre evacuation line. Over 11,733 metres of road were built during its construction. This solar farm prevents the emission of 80,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere each year. Eiffage Energía is also responsible for the Operation and Maintenance work for this plant, which will be extended for a period of 3 years.

Technology used

The technology used for this project is a high-efficiency module called mono PERC. This technology provides power of up to 370 Wp, centralised inverters with power of between 5 and 7 MW and single-axis trackers. Eiffage Energía has built over 14 solar farms for OPDEnergy, totalling more than 230 MW. This company has successfully developed numerous projects in different parts of the world, thanks to its notable international presence. The firm currently has offices in Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, Florida, London and Turin.

Eiffage Energía México

There is currently great potential in Mexico for installations smaller than 500 kW. For this reason, details are being finalised for a partnership with two major investment funds seeking to invest in these types of customers, who consider Eiffage Energía México as a trusted EPC contractor. Eiffage Energía México is also participating in a large number of tender for the construction of Solar and Wind Energy projects that will boost our presence in that country, which continues to offer great renewable energy development opportunities.
